ICT in education in the Philippines

In June 2020, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has explored the potential role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in maximizing for the ‘new normal’  in line with Republic Act 10844.
The Department of Education (DEPEd) has 3 modalities to deal with the new normal. Under distance learning, learners and teachers must have smartphones or laptop/desktop/ tablet computers. In the absence of such devices, learning sessions will be conducted through television or radio.  Printed modular learning is the preferred mode of parents and students since access to technology and connectivity remains a problem for most of them.

• Proportion of schools with access to computers for pedagogical purposes in 2016

Wading through water. Climbing uphill in Lanao del Norte. Insurmountable? Kaisipan found intermediate digital solutions.
